Nursing is a profession within health care sector focused on the care of individuals, families and communities so they may attain, maintain or recover optimal health and quality of life. Nurses may be differentiated from other health care providers by their approach to patient care training and scope of practice they undergo in many specialties with different levels of prescription authority. They develop a plan of care, working collaboratively with physician, therapist, the patient, the patient's family and other team members, that focuses on treating illness to improve the quality of life.
Aim
Nursing is an independent profession to promote health, prevent illness, restore health and facilitate care to all individuals, families and communities. Nursing encompasses autonomous and collaborative care to alleviate the suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses, also advocate health care to the individual. Nursing extended their service in the promotion of safe environment, research, shaping the health policy, education, propoganding health information and health system management.
Purpose
The purpose of B.Sc (N) course is to prepare professional nurses to deliver health care to the individual, family and society.
The purpose of Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) course is to prepare multipurpose health worker female/ village health Nurse/ Auxiliary Nurse Midwife with specific standards to fulfill the focused health needs of the community in health care delivery system.
