Nutrition and Dietetics, a sub discipline of Medicine, is the science that focuses on everything related to food and its effect on our health and overall wellbeing. Nutritionists and dieticians aim to improve people's health and help them make better dietary choices.

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics was established in 2002 .We offer undergraduate course in Nutrition and Dietetics. The Dietetics Programme provides students with competence, knowledge and skills required for the dietetic profession for practice of dietitian roles of today and tomorrow. The programme helps students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving ability in clinical and community Nutrition and Food Service Management. The Department provides sound teaching and extension environment to students to mobilize their potential and to inculcate human values and patriotic feelings.

  • To prepare students to become registered dietitian, nutritionists and to take up post graduate study in the field of nutrition.


  • To train students in health care in the field of education, community health and professional organizations through rigorous academic preparation, research experience and guided practice in rural health settings
